View PostFnM...what is it about the success of tax cuts that you do not like?

what is the success of tax cuts?!!?

we know for a fact that if you cut taxes and increase spending (borrowing boatloads) that tax revenues increase.... I haven't seen a Republican who is the fiscal conservative willing to cut taxes WITHOUT borrowing...

so it's hard to claim a success....

unless of course you like drowning in debt.

I keep a ZERO monthly balance on my credit cards. I don't like spending money I don't have and pretending I am doing better than I am.

the Optimum tax rates/ Tax Cuts/ Debt is a very complex issue....

it's pointless trying to have a meaningful discussion with a group of people who spout the party line of "TAX CUTS" who insist that it's a proven fact tax cuts will ALWAYS increase tax revenue. it's pointless.

View PostOK...so you hate spending money you don't have...not tax cuts. It's just easier to say what you mean.

SORRY,

I HATE the GOP policy of cutting taxes and not spending.

It's a policy designed to win the votes of simpletons.

It attracts those who desire to get stuff without paying for it.

I don't know who those people are, but the fact is the spending is a done deal...spending at unprecedented, historic rates were made official yesterday. So why rail against tax cuts? Just reeks of partisanship rather than fiscal concern.

View PostSo why rail against tax cuts? Just reeks of partisanship rather than fiscal concern.

I am railing against the notion that "more of the same" could fix things.

the GOP has been cutting taxes for 25 years now.....

shouldn't we be prospering incredibly, rather than being at the presipice (sp?) of collapse?

partisanship are the dopes who have been explaining how the Debt was at acceptable levels, who are now concerned with it.

remember Dick explaining how deficits and debt doesn't matter?

so the Partisan GOP has dug a huge hole, and now they are crying about the Democratic solution to the mess, and in a mind numbingly stupid assertion claim the cause will be the solution.

OK, Mr conservative.

Spending under Obama has now gone higher than any nation in the entire history of mankind.

What should we do with Federal tax rates?

jw,

I don't know,

it's like our situation with China.

things have gotten so bad that the easy answers are no longer available.

History though has proven me right AGAIN,

we should have paid down the debt 8 years ago,

and taken some SMALLER economic lumps,

rather than digging the hole deeper for 8 years to fuel a broken economy.

I do know the GOP Reaganomics solution won't work

and I am willing to give Obama more than a month.

you guys watched the cliff getting closer and closer for a quarter century,

while telling us everything was just fine....

and now demand Obama fix it in under 30 days....

partisan hypocrisy of the worst order.

View PostMy point is that coupling historic deficit spending with NOTHING has never proven to yield anything. I think it's funny that tax cuts are still the culprit.

1. if something is HISTORIC by definition it is WITHOUT precedent, and therefore there IS no proof to "yield anything".

2. tax cuts without spending cuts is a major culprit for our current problem. When you toss the word "STILL" into that sentence it makes me wonder about your logical thinking. If something caused a problem it caused the problem, changing presidents doesn't change the past. The GOP Tax Cut and spend policy of the last quarter century is a MAJOR culprit in our current situation.
