I'm the opposite, most evryone i Know is privatre sector. 2 friends on the gubmint tit at DEA and CIA. they do it out of love of the job and country, not for the steady paycheck. my neighborhood has some cops, firefighters and teachers, real workers. We had one big time hack who ran the MBTA and then was in charge of the Big Dig. He's retired and moved now, enjoying his pension(s).

More than we need.

There are legitimate need for teachers, police & fire departments, government bureaucrats & such, but not what we have...

Front line teachers are struggling to cover all the topics required by various (federal) programs and wind up teaching to a test. All the while they are surrounded by "specialists" and "support staff" that do less to assist and more to impede actual education.

I'm fairly sure that similar situations exist within most governmental organizations.

Think about it this way, the government produces nothing. It is a drain on the productive economy. Hence, the smaller its size, the better.
