epoxy finish ?

I've used Flexcoat hi-build and Afcote w/o problem applying. The minor issues I do have are cracking along the feet w/ Flexcoat and with the Aftcote the finish dries clear and performs great but it never gets super hard. I've been told this is a characteristic of ftcote. I'm almost out and I have 4 rods to build. I was considering trying U-40 LS Supreme, Duragloss LS supreme or the new Flexcoat Ultra V hi-build. What experience has any of you builders had with these products? I did read good things about the U-40 but which one was the majority using.

They all crack in the end. You just got to try out as many as you can be bothered with. Thread Master is flavour of the month right now, but who knows it may not suit your working style.

Most of the products you mention are good and you can't go wrong with any of them.

+1

I prefer the lite (low build) and more coats.

It flows better and no micro bubbles, but use light coats or it tends to ball up at the ends of the guide wrap making it uneven.

I like a finish the follows the thread rather than the high build "fattie" look.smile.gif
