Wonder whose nine inch pink sluggo, 3oz jig head, did I find all beat to crap, washed up on Town Neck beach Last Sat.

Bought a Diaiwa Emb 5000 on E-Bay last week, because you guys so highly recommend it, ($124. seller was Poor Fish) so give me line info for Canal fishing. Always been a boat man!

How about "Bob O'Malley's Whaleback Restaurant" How many stars?

Congrats to BU 29th Beanpot, going to see the rematch on the 20th! North

Eastern should have something to prove.

When I go, throw my ashes in Barnstabe Harbor!

View PostIf you found a pink 9" sluggo, there's distinct possibilty it belonged to one of the patrons of the Whaleback.shaky.gif (not that there's anything wrong with thatcwm27.gif )

For Canal plugging I use 30# Power Pro on my Pro Emblem. If I used that same reel for Canal jigging I'd put on 50-55# Power Pro.

Joe G,

Sorry I did not get back sooner, work sometimes gets in the way of the important things! You guys have been a wealth of info, and I appreciate it. All my poles are at my Sandwich digs so I dont know what I have, but what do you suggest for the 30lb. and the 50.

Once again Thanks

jrom....... I gather from your comment you'll be using the same reel for plugging as well as jigging and I assume you'll change spools to accomplish this.

My point is.... it's important to select an appropriate rod for plugging as well as one for jigging, although some may say one rod can accomplish both. So that said......are you planning to use one rod for both plugging and jigging.....OR, do you plan to use one rod with the 30# PP for plugging, and another rod with the 50# PP for jigging?

Personal preference, ones pocket book, and the fishing environment have a lot to do with why different branded rods are used for plugging and jigging. That's a discussion unto itself. As for me...I use a Lami 1322 for plugging and a Lami XS10MHS for jigging.
