View Post15-40lb line..its a one piece..will mostly be plugging!

Line up with the suffix 30 lb it'll be easier to cast.As a follow up a 6 1/2 ft rod might be a tad short for the jetty fishin.Especially throwin plugs.I personally always throw 9'.Give it a sot and let us know how you make out.

Yup, what he said

6 1/2 foot is for either freshwater or boat fishing depending on how heavy it is.

Do yourself a favor and pick up a better rod for the job. If you plan on plugging get something that's not too stiff (fast action). A rod with a little bit of bend in it (slower action) will make casting a lot easier and you'll have a lot fewer backlashes and a lot less frustration.

Personally I prefer a 1 to 4 oz lure rating, 10' rod for plugging the beach and jetties.
