Flash Sand Eel

This is a large, sluggo type sand eel that is intended for deep water use. I put the tungsten eyes forward so it will nose dive. Farrar's flash blend and silver flashabou. Some softex on the body and on the first 1" of flash behind the bend. Should be foul-free.

The S/F blend compacts nicely when wet-the belly of this fly ends up about as thick as the head.

I have caught a lot of 20 pounders on this fly.....In my mind biggrin.gif

Perfect! heart.gif

I've always done well with 8 to 10 inch ribbontail worms with bait casting tackle, a 9 inch eel fly is perfect for the waters I fish. I'll have to give it a try! Thanks! clapping.gif

Glad you like it-It's an easy fly to tie-Now that I have some larger 413's (5/0 and 7/0), I can tie some more. Also, I'm going to experiment with Plasti-dip instead of Soft-tex. Never did like the way the Soft-tex shrinks.
