Icing Greasers

8 posts in this topic

Spent a few days this week out on the ice and ended up averaging 5 lakers per day. Jigging the classic structures known to hold them with 2.5" Gitzit tubes with 3/8th jig heads in either pearl OR Light green w/red glitter.

Here are a couple greasers and a cool sunset:

I'm on a snowmobile but once it get's thick enough many guys drive out.

I prefer the adventerous feeling of the sled and the uninhibited mobility especially at first ice. I was the first person to drill that spot this year.

The ice armor suit is OK. Breaks the wind nicely and it has lots of pockets. In order for me to stay warm when the high temps are in the single digits I wear 1000 fill down jacket and pants under it with base layering under that. Mainly because I dont' like fishing inside my portable as much I like being outside. It's nice to have a dedicated ice fishing outterwear. Takes the guesswork out.
