Tip of the Week - Jan 26th

Here's a tip from SOL member Hoop;

I was tying my first benbacks the other night and had to solve a problem on the flywink.gif . Perhaps this could help a fellow tyer.

For liquids that dry relatively quickly-Sally Hansens, 5 min. epoxy, soft body, etc.-most of the time I will just rotate them in the vise until they are set up enough to move to stationary location.

While tying the benback I wanted to hold the profile, apply softbody with a brush, and rotate the fly in the vise to aplly evenly/view it. That is three tasks for two hands.

I used a small plastic sping clip to hold the fly profile with the bend of the hook. Then I could rotate the fly witht the left hand and apply soft body with the right.

Thanks Hoop smile.gif !
