Display Case part 2

Here is the display case I just finished. The face is a 24"x36" frame. The sides are 1x4 pine and the back is 1/4" plywood. The back is secured to the sides with a dado cut and glued.

The full length piano hinge is rabbited in so the case closes nicely. I used a support arm for 1 side only as I couldn't find a right sided one. It rubs a little but that is ok.

The backer board is 1/2" homasote (thanks Tagger)

For the lock I used a shelf support as the catch. (not much room using a frame as a face. It will be hung on the wall using a french cleat.

View PostVery cool. I couldnt tell how deep it was. Whether for flies or plugs.

Is that chair rail ya used?

It is a picture frame. My father paints for a living so I picked up a frame from him. I wanted a fairly simple frame so as not to distract from what's inside

the case.

View PostThat looks great!

Will it be wall mounted? If so,how do you attach the lures to the backer?

Yes, Here is is hanging on the wall. I used T pins to hold the lures to the case. (there is homasote under the fabric) I picked up the T pins at Michaels.
