Potential Wood Source?

Saw a new episode of Dirty Jobs the other night.

Mike Rowe was in NYC working with a company, The Rosenwach Group, that manufactures and installs those rooftop water tanks you see on the buildings.

They shop guy said they are made of 'yellow cedar'.cwm40.gif They mill the boards that are then fashioned into a barrel-like tank. Must be tons of cut offs! They also mill the boards that form the bottom of the barrel. More cut offs.

And when they replace an old tank, that I assume is made of yellow cedar, they take it apart and trash a few hundred pounds of yellow cedar. And judging by the way the guys were handing the pieces, and their appearance, the wood was not rotted or water logged.cwm40.gif

Here's a link to a You Tube video about the tanks and how they are made.

If the link gets scrubbed just search "Rosenwach" on You Tube.

I saw that episode a month or so ago and I could swear they said the wood was sent to a company that reclaims it...

You sure they trash it????

I have an email in to the Rosenwach Group asking about the wood, but we clearly need a man/woman on the ground in NYC to covertly observe the activities in question.

Anyone, before I enlist agent TBD?
