According to CreditSights, a research firm in New York and London, the U.S. government has put itself on the hook for some $5 trillion, so far, in an attempt to arrest a collapse of the financial system.

The estimate includes many of the various solutions cooked up by Paulson and his counterparts Ben Bernanke at the Federal Reserve and Sheila Bair at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., as the credit crisis continues to plague banks and the broader markets.

That's only 10,000$ new debt for every man, woman, and child in America. We are being looted blind by private banks. This is the biggest "protection" extortion racket in the history of the world.

You'll really love what happens next. My prediction, global government controlled by the banks who now own nearly everything and have a blank check backed by your tax money to buy up whatever else they want.

I guarantee we're under a year away from all of the sheep figuring out what all the militarized police and Halliburton "camps" are for.

Unfortunately, I don't think you are that far off.cwm13.gif

I agree with hispls with billions given in bail outs (Trillions are a real reach) but doubt the Obama Administration will use Halliburton to set up anything inthe future.

It would be humorous if it wasn't so sad. In Iraq we paid Halliburton billions to provide a wide range of services.

Yet we are rewarding those fools who screwed up the economy with bailouts and they never provided a dimes worth of service for anything. beatin.gifbeatin.gif

Yeah, a reach into our pockets.

There was NEVER a price tag or limit on the "bailout"/handout bill. The 700billion was merely a talking point and never a fixed number. The actual handout/takover bill was a blank check. Do a quick google and you'll find the most respectable financial news sources and even congressional testimony to back up the trillions figure.

You ain't seen nothing yet, and I promise you if you think the police state machine is going to slow down, you've got another thing coming. Hope your ready to hand over your guns.

Hate to break the news to ya, but we did some checking and we got back to ya and we gotta let ya know that the bailout is gonna cost ya more than ya thought.

Heck it's gonna cost more than we thought even though we didn't tell ya what we thought it would cost when we got the thing started, ya know.

Well we know ya ain't gonna like it but the cost is a couple a three trillion, yah that's trillion with a "T".

And by the way, if ya have figured out that this here is all about white collar welfare, ya know sort of like a white collar entitlement, well, we'll keep that a little secret for now and we'll let em all know when the ask us to get back to em 'bout it.

$5 trillion isn't even all of it. David Walker (former Comptroller of the US under Clinton and Bush) says the slice of the pie is $480,000 for every household in the US. That's the $11 trillion debt plus all the currently unfunded benefits we've agreed to. Don't think you're working for yourself anytime soon. mad.gif

Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right
