rice66
Has the price of a cord of wood come down with the price of oil? Seems that it went up when oil prices went through the roof... Has wood also come down?
gray gables
nope,up here in nh I still see it for 300-425 a cord I would never pay that, personally I hope it's 50 degrees all winter then all the cord wood will pile up and next year you will beable to buy it real cheap.matt

H'Islander
Here's a great website: www.newenglandoil.com I guess CT and VT are no longer part of New England? Gasoline was $2.019 and Diesel is $3.219 in my neck...Still a rip-off on #2 oil/Diesel....Should be less that Reg Gas. I voted against all incumbant candidates as they sat quiet as prices sky-rocketed and a less refined product began selling for more....it's the same as charging more for cord-wood than finished lumber. Just plain thievery and the folks in power say nothing...nothing at all.... "When the government's boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence." My bro got on the pre buy @ $4.40 he's still steaming! Hunting season is the best time to fish!
Stewie
Kevin,As I understand it, diesel and home heating oil start as a different grade of crude. The emerging(used to be third world) nations have a higher demand for this grade, thus the higher prices. .........Elvis lives....2020
Palisades Paulie
I l locked in at $4.07 during the Summer with Petro. Now they want $600 to get out of my contract. I am running the numbers to see if it's worthwhile giving them the $600. The good thing is I invested in a very efficient fireplace insert that kicks 75,000 BTU per hour. So far my oil gage hasn't moved. The thing keeps my whole house at 72. Retired internet cop

I've had the war in the mid-east is to blame because the military no longer maintains gas burning vehicles - all diesel - thus the demand for the war is to blame - another guy on the radio blamed the Diesel fuel lobbyists - To be honest, I don;t know what the actual cause was to begin with, but I can think...and what I see looks like gouging prices and the politicians are silent about it - NO ONE is offering the American public the official explaination or reason - and in my opinion, tha smells like a bunch of rats getting fat on the gouging....Just my opinion - I'm probably fulla schit.
