Mad River Synergy 14? Any input?

Found an awesome deal on a mad river synergy 14, any input on this model? I would be looking for something that i could take in the salt ponds of cape cod but out onto nantucket sound/buzzards bay. I also need something that I could go long distance on some trips too. How does it compare to the redfish 14, tarpon 14 or OK 13 prowler?

honestly i dont know much about the madriver synergy but i really like kayaks with hatches in the front. you can take much more gear........if you plan to do any overnight trips. I would go with the heritage RedFish 14 instead.

 

i own a heritage redfish 12 and love it and i have only heard good things on the redfish 14

It has no scupper holes. When water gets in, it stays in. Other than flat water paddling I would avoid it.

 

The boat is also very heavy for a 14-foot yak. IMO better choices out there,

Thanks for the input. I think that is a deal breaker for me. I found a new one marked down over 50% and got really excited. I guess I will pass....
