Plugged
Why would he and his staffers ask this of people applying for his administration? "(59) Do you or any members of your immediate family own a gun? If so, provide complete ownership and registration information. Has the registration ever lapsed? Please also describe how and by whom it is used and whether it has been the cause of any personal injuries or property damage."

Plug and teaser
I would guess the Secret Service had him put that in the application process. Probably makes scene with the problems there having with nut jobs making threats.
Roadrunner
Because the Obamites are the type of Hoplophobes that give Hoplophobes a bad name? Arno
Has the registration ever lapsed? I own a number of rifles and shotguns, but no handguns. (Not yet, that is.) Anyway, this question suggests that you must register a firearm. But I assume it pertains specifically to handguns. Yes/No? In addition, it also implies that the registration has a term limit and then must be re-registered. Is this true? ______________________

I live in the "free" state of maryland...and despite the very antigun laws here, the firearms which need registration (handguns and certain rifles), said registration never expires. Animal
The registration of firearms is illegal, and unconstitutional.Unless you're in a commie-run city. The only records kept on private owned guns are kept by the shop from which they were purchased. Those records are turned over to ATF, ONLY when the shop goes out of business,or perhaps if subpeona'd by a LEA. Arno,in RI,to purchase a handgun you'll need to get a "bluecard".For this you'll need to take a 100 question test.I wouldn't suggest studying for it,as the questions run along the lines of...."When is it okay to point a loaded gun at a police officer?" A.sometimes B.Wednesday C.Never. The answer is C. You can take the test at the Stedman building in SK,or go to Bullyseye Guns in Woonsocket, they'll administer the test, and have a great inventory, plus can help guide you in purchasing just what you need. It wouldn't pay you more to walk on water, than to wear a crown of thorns, It wouldn't pay me more to bury you rich, than to bury you poor... Animal
I don't have a problem with the test. It's fairly simple, and there are a lot of stupid people out there. The part that bothers me is the amount of people out there with absolutely no clue about our existing gun laws. Apparently our president elect falls into this category,as it is CONSTITUTIONALLY ILLEGAL to register firearms, nationwide.A few cities (I think DC,maybe NYC)have illegally implemented some handgun bans/possibly registration. It's scary to me that those empowered to enforce the laws don't know the laws. likwid
This is a standard question when applying for sensitive federal/federally funded jobs. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? Kayak Rick
Handguns are registered in Pennsylvania, have been for as long as I've been a gun owner (13 years). It's not like a car that you have to renew, but ownership has to be transferred when you buy or sell.

Yes, both my wife and I have bluecards. Got them at Dave's Guns on Post Road in Warwick. I'll look into Bullseye Guns in Woonsocket. It doesn't hurt to shop around. This past week my wife and I visited American Firearms in North Attleboro. They have shooting lanes and you can rent guns to use there as well. Allows you to get familiar with different calibers and brands. I've fired both .357s and .44s in Alaska, but I don't yet have the experience with handguns that I have with shotguns and rifles. M1911 (a forum member) sent me a couple of PMs a while back regarding handguns which are very interesting. Saved them because they're very informative. That's one of the great perks about being a member of a forum - the exchange of information. Anyway, a few years back my fishing buddy died at 47 years old. He had just built a large log house in Pascoag. Hunting and fishing were his passion. He had a number of rifles, shotguns and handguns. On the very day he died, the police were notified of his death. They wasted no time in getting to his house to confiscate the firearms. In fact, I was told they "busted in" his safe to remove his guns. I suppose they took them to secure them so they wouldn't get into the "wrong" hands, especially the handguns. The police knew he had firearms in his home, which led me to believe he "registered" them with the police. Since then, I kind'a figured all handguns must be registered. ______________________
