I added the lower hanger for boat use or deeper water ...it can easilt come off leaving the top...the rear blade makes it have a wide searching swim action ~~~~><(:> ! }smile.gif><

little over an 1oz.

I changed the lead profile slimmer like the real deal, skims the bottom if you let it sink.beers.gif

chicken scratch is slightly larger ...still drying biggrin.gif

View Poststupid question, but is the top hook just inserted into a groove and then filled in with wood filler or plumbers epoxy?

Not a stupid question but questions that should be asked and answered if this forum is really about helping each other rather than showing off a look at me photo. wink.gif

Sweet plug design Shark. Very innovative.

hmm I sent a response to you 'stupid question' from my pda but it didnt show...confused.gif the only stupid question is the one not asked biggrin.gif

I use a 1/4 forstner bit to drill several OOOOOO's along the back then carefully connect them as a groove then drill a tail wire so it comes to the back of the groove for the tail wrap...and a hole in the belly for the hangar..all the wires connect to the 6/0 jig hook for support so its got 3 points of support....

I put weight in the front bottom and behind the belly hangar so the plug rides like a clouser [ visit fly forum wink.gif ]

and yes I either use a thin level [self leveling] along the bottom of the grove once the wires /hook are in place....[ if you let the epoxy get a little thick it wont run out the bottom hole wink.gif ] 5 min epoxy to set hook level , then plumbers epoxy to fill and shape the top contour...

they have a wide searching swim almost like a ss darter with the metal tail

with the flaptail it..er ah flaps ! biggrin.gif if slow on the surface it really makes a noise...without the belly hook they skim bottom...

sorry for the late response...no secrets beers.gif

Kev,  I know it's been a while and I have asked a few times but do you have an itch and feel like carving me another?

I know it's a long shot but figured it can't hurt to ask
