stresst
I have heard in the past that saltiga's froze up in the cold. Did Daiwa repair this problem? I just picked up a 20 and a used 30 and dont want any problems next month. Thanks
stresst
Anyone? I called Daiwa and was told this was never a problem. But I have heard on numerous occasions that the conventionals froze up in the cold. Dont wanna change drags on new reels if I dont have to. canyondiver
Two things I can come up with... There is a tolerance somewhere on some of these reels that is soooooo close, that in the cold, the parts do not have enough clearance. The other possibility, is the grease used in the bearings and drag stack are prone to turning to peanut butter in the cold. #2 is an easy fix, and with Alan's tutorials, you can work your way through the rebuild. I also like Cal's Drag Grease, and it seems good in the cold as well as the heat. Proud to be a NERB and I have the shirts to prove it!!
