MSMiranda
Well my rebuilt knee needs a little tune up. When I was back east last month it really began acting up. Touring New York with my wife did it in. It didn't bother me fishing in New Jersey, but the streets of NY killed it. I did a little more fishing, but it was a struggle. I originally hurt it in '95 during training. I tore the ACL and some cartilage. 18 months later I had some scar tissue removed and I was good to go. I managed to stay on our SWAT team until 2004. It was then time to retire from the team and leave the heavy lifting to the younger guys. The MRI confirmed I have three things wrong inside. I have more torn cartilage, a piece of cartilage missing from the bottom of my femur inside the joint, and a growth (?) needs to be ground down. So the doctor gets to cut, drill, and grind. He says I'll need about a 2 week recovery. Well, at least there isn't a fall run to miss here on the left coast. Tuesday is the date with me DR. BrianBM
Good luck with that. And don't skimp on the physical therapy afterwards, it makes a huge difference. Zealous compliance is muuuuuuuch better then heavy pain meds - a year later.
Ben Lippen
I wondered why you stopped posting reports. Good luck Matt. Do the rehab as soon as you can begin, and you'll be fine

MSMiranda
It wasn't just the knee that kept me from posting. It was often a poor internet connection (allowing me to go online but not post), the knee, and an arugment with the Mrs. (all right now-but geez I can be a jerk), that kept me from posting. I fell behind a few days and just didn't want to try and catch up. After I left NYC, I spent one night in Kings Park. They weren't biting there. I drove out to M, but I picked the day they weren't biting. One guy caught a schoolie on the point and that was it that day. I went to Rhode Island, and again I heard, "you should have been here yesterday, I caught 20 in two hours right where you were standing!" Oh well. I drove on up to Maine, but the cold and damp made my knee unbearable. I drove to Albany and spent the weekend with my older brother. We took one day and went to the Baseball Hall of Fame (Ben I have something for you). I then went to Dayton and visited the Air Force Museum. My next stop was Abilene, Kansas for the Eisenhower Library. I then spent the weekend with my younger brother and his family in Denver,CO. I was gone 4 1/2 weeks and covered about 7k+ miles. The old Suburban hung in like a champ. It now has 150K thousand miles. If there is interest, I can post on the highlights. MSMiranda
No, they are a great bunch of guys though. I worked for Burbank PD. They had a part time SWAT Team. I was a member for 12 years. Matthew All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.
