Mr. Bigdeal
Picked up a couple of Heddon Super Spooks from a friend...........was wondering if anyone uses these and if so do you change out the trebles fro a larger size............these seem smalll for saltwater although the packaging states Saltwater on it......... If you can change out the trebles what size would be appropriate and what effect would it have on the lure................? "The hungry Wolf hunts the best.... Why isn't John Moses Browning on Mt. ToddMan
They are no good for Salt Water. Send them to me for proper disposal. <*)))><Stan Gibbs Cape Cod Canal Fishermans Classic

rocket500
I like the Rebel Jumpin' Minnow among the small plastic walk the dog types for saltwater. Change the hooks to 1/0 VMC's and you're in business.
samschreiber
awesome lure, easy to walk, only problem is paint. my paint always rubs off with-in a few fish. I would swap out the hooks, i have vmc barbarians on mine. ( not sure what size)
HarryG
I really like them, they are a little cheaper than custom plugs however IMO plugs like afterhours are slightly easier to walk. I change all trebles out to VMCs with the barbs mashed down. you turn it, i'll toss it
rocket500
Three sets of trebles on those, right? I would definately mash those barbs!
XBMX
just happens to catch fish as is, heavier hooks detract from its action.
Striped Bass
They are good plugs I have caught fish in 45dgr water with them, the hooks suck but you can always replace them as needed. codfish
there is nothing in this world that beats a fish taking a spook walking the dogggggg
shady grady
Rinse the hook to prolong their life. I dont leave home with out it. The Rapala spook is really good too.A little heavier and catch's just as good. The best part of trashing plugs is making more.

rocket500
Stripersniper makes a really nice wood spook lure. Very easy to walk. Casts well too.
sportyguy33
If the waters Flat Like I here it is Over there I don't see why the super Spooks wouldn't work. The Spooks Me and my close Fishing Friends use over here are about the same Size as the Zara Super Spooks. The one thing that seemed to be a constant was they didn't like the middle hook so they removed it and replaced only the front and tail Hooks with better ones. I personally like the Owner Stingers 3X STR-36 in Black Chrome. The size 1 would be the size you want for those Super Spooks
Mr. Bigdeal
Would increasing hook size affect Spooks performance or removing the middle treble....? The hooks this lure comes with seem about right for maybe a Large mouth bass...........not saltwater version. "The hungry Wolf hunts the best.... Why isn't John Moses Browning on Mt. Rushmore?
