stripercrazy
I didn't know him but I wish the best for his family and friends... I'm sure he'll be missed...I knew a guy who never fished again after his old fishing partner passed on...I still remember a old friend who taught me a lot about surf fishing when I first started fishing the surf...certain places and times I still think about the good times and fish we caught. its sad to hear another surfcaster has passed on follower of rev Darryl Strawberry

Nebe
Heres another Pic of Andy. Before my son was born, I was a member of the Naragansett Pier Salt Water fishing Club, and got to know andy at the meetings, plus I fished with him a few times at point judith in the fall. He taught me a bunch of little factoids about fishing narragansett and told me a lot of stories about block island in the 80's and how the fishing was so good. I think he had 4 fish over 50 lbs from the surf from the island, but I am not sure. He told me that every fish over 50 lbs he caught was bumped from the Jerry Sylvester year long tournament by a bigger fish, which is something to be said about the fishing before the moratorium. If any of you had the opportunity to fish with him, consider yourself lucky. Andy was by far the kindest, humblest, and most generous surfcaster I have ever met in my life. I feel very fortunate to have known him.
Ratty
I remember Joe Lyons doing an artical about him years ago in OTW Magazine...seemed like a great guy / surfcaster.... R.I.P Andy Surfcasting is NOT a crime.
ThrowingTimber
The first time I met Mr. Lamar was at the light house. I walked up to the parking lot after taking a beating down below. Green jeep pulls up any fish?? Yeah a few smaller ones.. He responds... I dont get out of the Jeep for anything under 20lbs. A true wealth of knowledge and a loss to the community as a whole. Rest in peace.
