Time
Little help please if allowed in this forum. Maybe I can return the favor to someone fishing Jersey. I wanted to know about access to the Indian River Inlet from the shore or jetties. It seems that access is limited to days only? Is that correct? Is there access or parking from a beach? The south side seemed to have parking but it looked close. The north side with jetty looked like one had to park in the park which closes at night. Any help with this is appreciated. I'm not new at this game, just a new area. thanks in advance for any help.
DerrickT
Northside lot is open 24/7. Its now located next to the coast guard station. Southside has a huge main parking lot but I think that closes at sunset. You use to be able to park around the bridge on the southside or in the camp ground but I'm not sure how the new bridge has effected that. You can also park on the northside and walk out to the beach or on the southside 3R's road has a parking lot you can park in and walk to the beach also thats open 24/7. Hope that helps. CJS
Good Luck. Northside has a honor system booth. 8 bucks out of state I think. Maybe no fee in November?? Pretty cool jetty IMO, be careful your first time in the dark. It is pretty fishable, but plenty of us have bit it out there at night. CJ

Not sure when they stop taking money, or when you don't have to pay anymore, but it is $8 for out of state. Also with the jetty, korkers are a must once you get past the end of the railing at the beach. You might find some rocks along the rail that are flat and you can stand on, but once you get past the end there is only about a dozen or so flat rocks that you can stand on without slipping, after that its slip city if you ccan get out. Scissorman
No fee after Oct 31.... Its a great inlet to fish but you REALLY need to be careful on that jetty..Its one of the spookiest ones I've been on, especially when the tide is moving..It really rips thru there. LeadDragger
Might want to confirm when the fee is waived. I saw a young ranger riding around the lot this weekend writing tickets as fast as she chould stick one to a windshield.
Waterbillie
There's no one in the booth, but you must pay using the little pay stub thingy at the entrance or you WILL be ticketed...at least they hired that very cute ranger girl to make the tickets less painful. Something about a cute girl with a gun....... Steve

wok167
If you are going 3-4 times a week, it would still pay to get the season pass until the end of November. Remember too, that the DE surf fishing permit allows folks access to the State park lots as well.

DerrickT
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you took your receipts into one of the park offices they use to deduct that off your pass regular car pass, not the beach permit. Don't know if they still do it, but they use to.
