mybeach
Used the Chantix to quit. Crazy dreams and all, it was worth it. I have not cheated 1 bit, and I feel great. If anyone is trying to quit, talk to your doctor about Chantix. It's no magic pill, but it might help. Cigarette smoking is a vile disgusting smelly habit. I can't even stand to smell it when someone in a car in front of me is smoking. QUIT them nasty things and save your life.

shbeachbum
Good going ! I wish I never started. Been off now for 18yrs. this month. Tomorrow I see my doctor to go over my CAT scan of my lungs. Six months ago, while doing a scan for kidney stones, they saw two growths in my lungs and I'll find out if I'm in deep s--t. He told me they were from smoking. The crap in cigarettes changes cells in your lungs to nodules that can become cancer. Wish me luck and say a prayer. js26198
65 days for me, wore the patch then one day I just forgot to put it on...
BOH
8 days today...cold turkey. No Patch, no gum, no meds. Have been a pack a day smoker for 20+ years. Made half-assed attempts in the past, tried the gum and the patch, always failed in the end. Can't say I got it beat this time, but I feel pretty good about it. Toughest part is the commute and getting on the boat. Seems like starting the truck and stepping on the boat were automatic triggers for a smoke. I keep waiting for it to get easier, but I can't really say that's happened yet. Still get light headed, appetite all screwed up, and just a tad on the grouchy side. Feel like I have a chance this time, so gonna stay positive here and just tough it out. Good luck to everyone else trying...I know it's easy for some, but it's been a real ***** for me. No doubt the number one thing for me has been a genuine desire to quit, so we'll see if it sticks this time. It's not a ****ing woodpecker! MikeMc
nobody likes a quitter. Congrats Took chantix myself. It definitely does work. Too bad I didn't. Got another script the other day and am going to give it another try. I kind of liked the dreams. You know it must be a penguin bound down if you hear that terrible screaming and there ain't no other birds around.

I do cheat and have a cigar every now and then, but at least I've quit inhaling(Sad to say all types of smoke).
