MartinO67
Hi guys, my family and I are thinking about moving down south. I live in Hauppauge NY now. The only way I would consider this is the Striped Bass fishing has to be close by. I am not saying Florida but Down south away from New York . Anybody out there do this or thought about it. My boys are 11 and 7 so schools are important as well. Caroliners, Virginia, anyplace where I can Bass fish like I do at home, thanks.>>>>>>>>Martin LIBBA #1347 Eat, Sleep and Fish !!!!! ex-bunker dunker
i think you should not let catching a striped bass limit your family's relocation... you can catch bigger fish(may not be bass) the further south you go life is short . play hard

easternpoints
What Voldemars said. Make sure you have work depending on where you are going. Check the pay scale differences, a lot of jobs just don't pay well in the south.

speedracer
I lived in Florida for a short time so I'm gonna ask you: Do you know what Rednecks are? No, I mean have you ever lived with real live, actual Rednecks? I never knew people like this really existed, but the farther South you go the higher the Redneck quotient gets. They're not the fun loving Rednecks you see in movies and TV either. Once you leave Maryland it starts to get ugly. PS. They hate Northerners....a lot!!! You're getting sleepy. ....very sleepy..... Eddie the Red
Martin I grew up in Islip and my family moved to Charleston SC back in 1995, you wouldn't be fishing for stripers down there the way you do up here, and they don't get too big either. You will able to go after Red Drum, Kings, and Spanish; I was mainly a chunker down there. Charleston is a great area to live, worth a look see for yourself. When looking for a place to live near the coast down south take into consideration Hurricanes.
speckhunter80
speedracer, I would have to disagree with you...us rednecks don't dislike all northeners only the ones who move here and tell us how we are wrong because of how you do things up north and then call us rednecks thinking that is a derogatory term
Gmofftarki
I was thinking about moving down south too... What would a 1BR apt cost not more than 90 minutes from the Atlantic in NC?
