riarcher
I see that everyone uses them with the pointy end facing down. Is there any particular reason why they are not with point up? Thinking with point up they couldbe a bit more weedless.
Charleston
Personal preference mostly. Some guys point them up. I am old but I'm slow.
Plug n Flyguy
Most fish attack their prey from below.
WoodCarver
The only time I put the hook face up is if I am going to be dragging the lure along the bottom. As stated above the fish attack from bellow. Some people misplace their dreams and then later claim that they were robbed
The Dad Fisherman
Bottom lip is softer than the upper lip....easire to hit home when you set the hook

smirkplug
I put them up or take them off completely, pointing down never catches me stripers and i like to hide hook as much as possible. I am testing this method right now and will post what i find.
