PaGary
I have waited a life time to be able to fish and hunt whenever I wanted to. Several of you might have seen me, my wife and 4 children and grandsons surf fishing in the area of South Bethany. In fact we have fished in several of the surf fishing tournaments in that area. Last Friday (October 31) I retired from a job that I worked at for over 37 years. My brother talked me in to going turkey hunting with him on November 1. Five hours into the hunt I fell and broken my left ankle. I am so thankful for SOL. If it wasn't for you guys and gals I would probably be going nuts right now. Thanks for all of the interesting articles. I have learned a lot in the last couple days. Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

phish4stripers
At least you did it at the end of the surf season. Good luck and quick healing. Listen to what the doctor tells you and do your therapy. Matt

Charleston
Enjoy your retirement. MAke sure you have plenty of guys to do things with. I can tell you from experience, being retired and having your fishing friends working sucks! You have to build plugs to fill your day! I hope you get well soon. Did you get a turkey I am old but I'm slow.
shbeachbum
Gary- heal fast so you can again get the full benefits of retirement. I have been retired 8 years already after 30 yrs with the same company. Time does go by fast and I enjoy every day that I get up and do what I want. Being close to the water also helps! Good luck & enjoy! ps. 4 years ago, I missed a step in my house and broke my left foot. It was a long hot summer cause they had to operate & put 3 screws in. Got back in action just in time for the Fall.
CHIEF500
PaG, what a bad way to start your retirement. Hope you're feeling better and are pain free. Funny that's how I found SOL. I was out of work due to back problems. Awaiting surgery, I'd pull the keyboard and moniter down onto the floor while laying at home and been here ever since. I LIKE PIZZA! BigMouth
Look on the bright side, you don't have to worry about missing work. A broken ankle is a life experience. i had broken my ankle 3 years ago. after breaking my ankle. I had no job, no unemployment benefits, no money to go to doctor because I was self employed and no health insurance and no family or friends can take care of me. You lucky it happened after you retired and have family and friends support you. Get well soon. Wish you have a happy retirement.
