A little gem for escorting your black bomber, on those night missions.

OAL is 4" tied on a 2/0 Owner Hook.

Hook is Owner 2/0 Model # 5169-121

Tied a black hackle feather down both the port and starboard sides.

Purple B/T under & Black B/T over.

2mm Orange stick on eyes, then epoxy.

All tied on with mono, except Black B/T tied on with black thread.

I hope you find this helpful.

Nice fly.

This is a tried and true fish catcher, particularly at night.

Nice fly. I would recommend a longer shank hook. It really helps when you remove it while getting pounded by waves. And, while those hooks are superior in strength (and overall) they eventually have a problem unless you do high maintenance on your teasers (I don't. They stay in the salt soaked ziplock until I need them redface.gif). Good luck with them, they look great and are tied sparsely just like they should be.

Thank you for the compliments, and advice on hook selection. I chose these as they are quite sharp, very strong, and the Black chrome finish adds to the astetics. Tying my own teasers, I worry little about their maintenance. One gets wrecked up I just make more...smile.gif I'll look into the shank length offerings on Owner hooks, for future batches. It would be nice to have a little more shank.

I have been tying less than a year, so there is always plenty to learn for me.
