rocket500
Hard to say, they made them for quite some time. You can still find them new in some B&T's although I don't know that they are producing them anymore. Maybe. Â Its a danny type metal lip swimmer plug. Slow retrieve, generating a v-wake on the surface. Mix it up with a little stop and go and also "pop" it every now and again to get the lip to throw water. rocket500
Metal lips are generally regarded as night lures, although I think plenty of folks use them successfully by day. Fish them in white water when you have it.
StriperTC
Looks like what was called a spin atom, mid sixties?
Shaky
it's a junior atom  40 is larger tapered more like a bat and made of a different type of plastic  spin atom was the smaller two hook model, i think they may have come in a couple of sizes, memory is gone here's a couple  If you are ugly you are ugly. XBMX
Bob Pond designed his "Atom Swimmer" some 20yrs before the first "Danny". Came in many sizes, think thats a 2oz Atom Jr.
NIB
Right the 2 1/4 oz Jr. model I think # 54 the newer version.. The older ones where slightly smaller.Made of a different plastic.Prone to breaking so there's not many around.I can tell from the tail wrap..I prefered the older ones..Good eelskin plug. starsandstriper
gotta love the sweet paint job. plugs like these sometimes make me question why builders spend all the time on nice paint, when these plugs fish almost as well. but then again almost as well is not good enough, and some of the paint jobs look sick! FISH ON!!!!!!! I like turtles Ditch troll once again
Shaky
Atom 40 at the top, probably purchased in the early nineties. Not sure if Bob still owned the company at the time, but the plastic was the same as the ones I had used previously. It's a smooth hard plastic. Company was sold twice i believe. The new owners mold the forties from the same type of plastic as the juniors if i recall correctly. Not sure if they retained the original shape  Junior atom in the middle, purchased around the same time I believe, though it might have been leftover from the seventies, never gave it much thought. Smaller different shape, just like the one you posted up. It's made from a different type of plastic, like hard styrofoam, look closely at your plug and you can see.  Spin atom at the bottom, same styrofoam type plastic as in the junior and the striper swipers.  Rust is from the nineties as well, maybe a little from the early 2000s  Forties were my favorite, haven't bought any of the new ones. jimmy z
When I get these jr's, I sand off that edge on the plugs sides, and repaint 'em. A great winter passtime. Â And what NIB said, you can see the size diff. in the older jr's as oppossed to the newer models. I even have gotten some older wood ones. Â But the repainting thing I do with all of the 40's, big and small. Changing the hardware can be an issue though.
