drove to ma. on 2 minutes notice today from me.going to charlestown ri tonight,wondering how things are in the canal right now,any info appreciated

It's slow to none existant. If your lucky you might be able to hook into a miget bass. Other then that you can have all the casting practic you want. The macs are starting to show out in front of the east side. But who knows when they will start thier push into the canal.

Fished late Thursday night into Friday and had two 22-24" bass and a couple misses trying with bigger plugs for bigger fish. . Fished on and off until 7am Saturday morning with no results...This was the last shot for me this year for the salt unless I end up way south of Massachusetts...Good Luck.

well,i'll be going to the charlestown breachway tonight and am hoping for better luck than i had all year in maine,absolutley the worst season i can remember.

I know what you mean. We gave up on Plum Island about the third week of September and started heading for RI on weekend. Fishing was much better down there.

 

We did have a good two week or so run in the PI area, though, Labor Day to mid Sept. Not tons of big fish, but a lot of fish.
