phish4stripers
To the best of my knowledge that is off limits. I have seen police breaking chops on people down on the beach and off of the access road.

Disassembler
I was told by someone that that are is off limits. There used to be a sign and a cable running across to stop trucks from passing, but you can see it all tangled up on the dune and no one has replaced the sign. Fishtale7
I saw some trucks yestrday between the two rock piles at the east end. Are you permitted to drive over there?  What rock piles?  All the way to the east. By the cove.   Absolutely FALSE! There are NO vehicles permited east of Engineers road. Check your map that was given to you when you got your permit, that is the hash marked area on the map. You are not permited over by the cove, you are not permited on any dunes. In order to get to the cove you must drive over a dune, and since driving on dunes is a no-no then that means it's off limits to vehicles. Years ago there used to be a BIG old rusted out bouy blocking one of the paths and a giant concrete bridge embutment blocking the other. Wonder what ever happened to them. Wish someone would put something there to block everyone that drives there. Driving there erodes and accelerates the destruction of the area and it will eventually lead to closures. Fishtale7
Got there this morning at 6:30 and what do i see???? two trucks parked at the cove I can't beleive no one reads the permit and materials that are issued to you when you buy the permit. What is more enraging is that the enforcement is a joke, if it does happen all they ask is that you have a permit. They don't even bother to check if the plate/person matches the permit Why do they even pay these guys if they won't do their job?? - Life is a waiting room, I hope they don't call me soon...... - Thomas Jefferson - "The course of history shows that as government grows, liberty decreases" - Our flag doesn’t fly because the wind that moves it. mfm22
I have seen LIBBA stickers & plates on trucks down there -Those guys should know better Many times you'll see SUV'S down in cove and no permit showing- probably never had one Should we start educating these offenders?? It may be that some really don't know -regulations ... But if officials start cracking down that area will wind up closed ....too many offenders
BrianBM
The guys with LIBBA plates certainly know the rules. They don't need "education," they need to be ticketed. I don't understand the lack of enforcement, either; you could do a lot for Park funding with a citation book, and a tire gauge. Money for a sign is the easy part, it's an investment that would pay for itself. Â No permit? Here's your ticket.
