Fish Face
Which reel would be a better fit for the lami xs 10 ms, the VS 200 or 250? I will primarily be fishing sandy beaches.
Striped Bass
The 200 is plenty big enough to handle any fish from the beach "Get up, stand up, and fight for your rights" Bob Marley Catch & Release + Respect Mother Nature
RI: best part of CT
I wish I had the VS200 I ordered that's on backorder. I'd tell you. As it is the VS250 goes reasonably well on my XS101MS - but I gotta hunch the 200 will be nicer. Capio pisces, ergo sum.
vinnyb
The 200 is my preference for that rod. However, if you plan to buy an 11'er in the future, a 250 will do both. Not that you can't put the 200 on an 11 - it just may feel a bit on the small side.
TBD
its all about lite set-ups in my opinion ... the lighest that will do the job the better. I fit 50 2lb mono backing and 330 yards of suffix 40 on my VS150 and I'M golden. TBD TBD CC
rocket500
While I also like using lighter reels where possible, the 250 does has some advantages: Less than 2oz weight difference and still quite a bit less than reels like a Penn 704. Larger spool will help casting distance slightly. Faster retreive.
mfm22
I use VS 200 & XS101 rod - seems like a perfect match for me . Have a 250 on 11ft lami -again very nice. same old story can't use one reel for all rods , can't use one rod for all lures . Or should I say you can....... but it's best to use

robertyb
The VS 200 weighs 21.7 Oz. The VS 250 weighs 22.3 Oz. Less than an ounce difference. Go with the 250. Gmofftarki
I've got a 200 on the 10MS and I love it. 250 might well be too "big" even if it's the same weight. raybliu
The VS 200 weighs 21.7 Oz. The VS 250 weighs 22.3 Oz. Less than an ounce difference. Go with the 250. I agree. The weight difference is less than an ounce. 250 works great on my Fisher 10M. It definitely casts quite a bit further than my 200 due to the larger spool. 250 rules for both 11 m & l. mfm22
It's not just the weight but the" feel" and this is a personal thing . I will admit that the 250 may cast a bit further [farther?] But I love the feel of th 200 on the XS 101 - like a fine tuned weapon!!
