Anything below the 712 are more or less FW reels however you could use them for snappers or smaller fish in the bay.They shouldnt be used in the surf.I Used a 712 many years fishing or fluke,flounder,small blues and weaks.You also have the three digit and four diget series,550SS or its newer model the 5500.

700, 704, 706, 710

 

Those are about your best bet for striper fishing. Like Sc said anything smaller is a basically FW reels. I have a few and they are small.
