I had mine on a Friday, sat around with ice over the weekend. Walked to much Sunday and swelled a bit. Back to work Monday. Pay attention to the Dr. wwear the supporter and should be good to go. When the Dr says you need 20 in 2 weeks after the cuts and then you take a sample to the hospital. I walk in and the girl behind the counter asks can I help you. I have a sperm sample to have tested. Co-ed class, and as you looked around the room the guys all had they legs crossed and were kind of hunched over, and the girls were all in tears laughing at us. During the procedure the doc thinks I am 1 in 100,000 that have dual veins (no wonder I had twins) and after completing one side he decides that he doesn't need a hemorage situation in the office. Good decison doc, that made two of us. Anyway, he lets me know I'll have to come back in a few weeks and have the other side done but in the operating room under general anesthesia. This was a Friday morning, I went home with only a minor discomfort feeling, pinching and a slight cramp in one side but nothing to complain about. Anyway, did exactly as they said, jock, ice , rest, tylenol. Woke up the next morning in agony, my boys were black, blue, purple, yellow and twice the size as normal. conditions did not improve on Sunday or Monday morning so I called the doc and explained I anticiptaed some discomfort but I was in agony. He explained that he expected some issues as he handled me quite a bit down there (why didnt he tell me and give me pain pills?) and that things would improve in a few days. Have to tell you I was not able to go back to work until Wednesday and I was still hurting. I was hesitant about going for Round 2, even told my wife I thought maybe it wasn't supposed to be. A couple weeks later I went into outpatient surgery at the hospital, was done by 10AM and could have played golf that day. I was ascared of the next day so I did all I was supposed to, and had only minor discomfort the next day, by Monday I was fine. This was 15 years ago, I was 35, my concern then as well as now is that vasectomy victims face a higher risk of prostate cancer than folks that didn't have it done. Otherwise, not having to worry about pregnancy or birth control methods is a great thing, nothing feels different or acts different. Of course, many men face mental issues afterwards and can't perform, if your a nut case, maybe you shouldn't, I never even thought about that possibility. All in all, even with more discomfort than normal, I'd do it again given the circumsatnces. Just ask your doc for a scrip for painkillers, you never know if your gonna hurt and if those boys swell, well, when you hurt down even your hair hurts. BTW, I did have to shave down there and had a cute nurse holding me by the handle, it was the first and last time in my life I had a hottie holding me by the stick and not once did I think about it being sexual in any sense of the word. Trust me, when they start cutting and burning flesh down there, you ain't thinking about getting aroused, your thinking about how to get the hell out of there before they de- nut ya'. Now they take a piece of the duc out when ya get snipped. So now they stretch the thing and reattach. That SOB didn't walk straight upright for a couiple of years.
