Jonesy
I see Harry Reid is threatening to take Joe's seat on the national security committee away because of his campaigning for McCain and various other anti party behavior. i'd love to see Leiberman defect and join the Repubs. What's stopping him? Does he think if he plays nice nice now the liberals in CT are going to re elect him after going rogue anyway?

saltydawg
So explain how this Obama administration is going to foster good will among the parties? Oh, right, by eliminating those who oppose them in any fashion...very retro, very Nixonesque. -
eddy
When we reach across the aisle, and there's no Joe Lieberman there...? What then? Can we still call it a reach? why the hell do conservatives have to reach across the aisle? that's what got us where we are today. reaching across the aisle to ask for help from liberals. you do that, and a conservative bill gets filled with liberal BS. Patrick9915
People in CT love Lieberman. He lost the democratic primary but still won his senate seat by running independent. If I recall, his race in the primary was close. Nearly 50/50 with Ned Lamont so there are still Democrats that love him. When the big show came around, he won pretty easily. Not only beating out Lamont (his closest competitor) by a wide margin but absolutely destroying the Republican running. The other third party candidates didn't even have a prayer. The Republicans like him too. Seems to me, he is sitting pretty. Next election will be interesting though.

I could care less about a permanent majority for either party, but frankly that is the goal of each party so I do not know what your complaint is that Republican want majority control ...... do you really think that Democrats do not want majority control???????????? Roadrunner
Republicans don't particularly like Joe Lieberman. But we absolutely loathed Ned 'Nelly' Lamont. A vote for 'moderate' Joe Lieberman was a vote against bleeding-heart, Lear Jet Liberal, Neo-Com 'Nelly' Lamont. It really was that simple. The Senate is close to the magic 60 Democratic seat mark. Dismissing, ne, booting, Joe Lieberman may turn out to be a classic blunder, on the Dems part, forcing Joe to consider caucusing with the Republicans. But this isn't the first time Harry Reid has taken his foot out of his mouth, and stuck it up his ass. And it won't be the last!
