stresst
I was wondering if anyone can answer a few questions for me? I just came across a NIB Penn Jigmaster 501L, upon further inspection the reel is a righty I think? The handle is on the right side and turns clockwise. The sideplate says 501. Im assuming its in the wrong box? I remember the old lefty penn's the handle was on the right side but cranked counterclockwise? Correct? Can anyone tell me what if its worth anything? Or is a just another 50.00 jigmaster? Thanks
duckhead
I am not sure about this one, but Penn used the letter "L" quite often to designate aluminum spool (as opposed to chrome or plastic).
duckhead
BTW the L would appear on the box but not on the reel because spools are readily interchangeable. So the box/reel could well match. Check out my rarer 500S in the for sale section.
duckhead
The 501 (narrow spool) I just looked up was made from 1966 to 2004.
stresst
I am a dumb Arse for asking that question. It is a 501 and there is a L on the box. Like the 500L jigmaster's. Can anyone tell me what a NIB 501 is worth? I would like to get rid off it and want to have an accurate price listed. Thanks Angelo
