ChrisD
Just got off the phone with burke from albright. Had an issue with an order. Gpx spool ordered GP recieved. First let me comment that the fit and finish is great on both the gp reel and the gpx reels I have from them (bought the gp reel after recieving the gpx reel from another member in a trade.) I bought the GP because of the GPX quality. The drags are very smooth I was very suprised. I spoke with burke at great legnth (probably 30 minutes) He was very helpful and let me know a gpx spool was being sent to me right away and I could keep the Gp spool at no cost. He also told me they are going to be making a move into some higher end reels for 2009 a very similar reel to an abel design. They will also be running another 70 perecent off sale on the 19th or later. They actually raised the prices in his words to quell the **** load of demand they were seeing for the products. He said the inventory guys just couldnt keep up. Another note is to keep an eye out for a new website. Guys from a company we thought was going under, they seem to have all the trappings of a company really making an effort. Also the personal service I recieved was amazing. The guy on the answering machine is the guy that returns the phone calls got to love it. No automated menus there. This guy was a fisherman and hats off to albright they highered atleast one. Sudsy
I just bought 5 reels Scored a free gear bag with my over $175 purchase Burke White is a helluva nice guy. Had a long talk, learned a lot. Told him he should stop in here and be available to field questions like Todd from Lami and Bob Hulme from Abu did/do. Found out that the rods (didn't ask about the reels) are made in Korea. Outstanding! That's a big step up from China gear. foulhook
sale started up again. 70% off for the next 44 days Makes one think. I guess at those prices warranty wouldn't much matter anyway. "It isn't that Liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so much that isn't so."
