Mike Jamiolkowski
Never saw a thread on the color choice for a VS. Heard that people get black so that it is not that visible from a distance so that the threat of thief is low. Someone told me that the good thing about the silver finish is that when it gets scratched, hard to see the scratch because underneath is the same color. Any thoughts on this ? RI: best part of CT
Well I know how easily black gets marked by rocks...but I still prefer it over strapping $700 worth of gold or silver bling onto my rod Capio pisces, ergo sum. aweiss4428
i went with silver. gold is lookat me lookat me! black is good, but gets beat to hell if you scratch it up. I knew my reel would be scratched bad, and after seeign some really beat black reels I'm glad i went with silver. ( i know some say the beat up black have a certain appeal to them, and I sorta agree)
Brother Brian
It's a reel. All the colors work the same..... Mike Oliver
Don't kid yourselves Guys. A scratched reel is a scratched reel It looks just the same whatever colour you choose. These are not toys they are made to take the crap we put them through. No need to buy a VS unless the reel gets to be bumpted , bashed fishing underwater etc. These are honourable scars. Why would you be bothered about it at all. Mike

Thanks guys Gold and Silver are for people that want to be seen, or rather want to be seen with a VS - kinda like jewelery Get black - scratches just tell the rest of us that you're fishing with it. emgred
They only came in black when I got mine. I would still have gotten black if I had a choice.
