I would just get a rod, which is not too expensive and not too cheap, but good quality, for example Croix Premier 10' MH spin, not XH, I use usually 1.5 - 2 oz plugs. Thank you. If you like light plugging, seriously consider the AFAW 11' Estuary[1-3oz]. It will do 1/2 - 4oz in real world fishing. Search SOL to get idea of prices and trade value.
