Aquacide
Well done voters... I am glad to see that this state is still a little realistic. BTW.. has anyone seen Deval Patrick Lately????? yeah saw him at 2pm when i was in the line up Skitter - the libertarians wanted to repeal the 5.3% income tax to cut the state budget 40% ($12.5 bn) back to 1993 levels. primarily because they'd never heard of inflation. Deval Patrick is definately staying for a very good reason - Obamas successor in 2016 will need a VP, as America will NOT elect two male black presidents in succession. WalkinTheDog
Deval would make a good VP someone who doesnt do anything, and is seldom seen.
Aquacide
Deval would make a good VP someone who doesnt do anything, and is seldom seen. he's balanced the budget despite the inherited Romeny overspend and not raised taxes, and attracted big investment in bio-techs and education. up until July MA had the strongest economy in the nation in 2008 despite the 8th highest taxes. New_Caster
the libertarians wanted to put the tax obligation where it belongs with the towns not the state. each town would then decide what would be funded. it is not surprising that 99% of the funding against the question came from the teachers union who most benefits from the states wasteful spending. I am sure everyone would love to be able to retire at 55 with over 40K in a retirement fund from the government instead we have to wait till we are over 65 and will get on average 15K. BTW I will have to wait till almost 70 for mine. Thank good I have other sources. Have you ever asked yourself why our government never cuts spending? its because they can reach there hand in your pocket and take whatever they want. just look here if you want an education on it. http://www.city-journal.org/2008/18_...ncome_tax.html

Aquacide
you do know that the Governor has little power in MA its all in the legislature. thats how the constitution is written. I do. thats why it is important that he balanced the budget and attracted big business to the state. Aquacide
it is not surprising that 99% of the funding against the question came from the teachers union who most benefits from the states wasteful spending. no its not surprising because some people in MA who couldn't vote have brother-in-laws who live in VA and work in DC as Arbitrators for teaching unions....... and before you use Carla Howell's lame 'out of state' argument, check her accounts - 90% of funding from 4 CA Libertopian activists. grass roots my arse. Have you ever asked yourself why our government never cuts spending? no, because i read the newspapers that tell me that the governor just made $1.2bn in budget cuts and announced 1200 state lay-offs in order to balance the budget. New_Caster
yeah governor Deval did exactly what my company did if fire some very low level people and called it cost cutting. but failed to get rid of the waste of the executives who do nothing. and now because of the great state of Massachusetts's he will get even less tax's because over 100 gobs are lost because of question 3 and the tax's on the dog track is lost too. instead of being responsible we see stop gap measure that are used so he can "prove" he is doing something.
