John M
That was why I pulled out late monday night. I heard the forecast saw all the rain on the point and decided I would go. glad I did, it was rough getting up through rodanthe. I hate to cut a trip alittle short, but being stuck down there in that kinda weather isnt any fun either.

d-man
I was able to get off the island on tuesday around 1pm. Sand was on the roads in places. No real amount of water on the roads yet when I left. Sounds like I got out just in time. The weather monday night was a downpour and lots of wind. The beach emptied quickly and I soon found myself fishing alone, but it was sure well worth sticking it out as long as I could .
brianbutler10
that area around rodanthe has been a problem for years now. Any decent easterly blow will put water on the roadway, and can get pretty deep at times NCBBA #5665
Salt T
This web cam is maintained by the Dare County Director of Emergency Managment. It's a view of the S-Curves in Mirlo Beach. You can see sand and water on the road at times. http://www.darenc.com/webcam/mirlo.php
