JoshR
I know of the huge following for the older 704 / 706 z reels, I currently use a 704z and love it. I was just curuios of the new penn reels they make.. if any are comparable to the Z series and which model is the current choice as a replacement of say a 706z JoshR
Black Dragon
Nothing comparable when it comes to durability. Stick to the old stuff!! "Checkov? Well, this here's McCoy. We find a Spock, we got us an away team."

PennRemasterd
I dont think anything can compare to the penn Spinfishers and Z series. I think they are the best reels out there!! RocksMeEasy
so besides the old Penn's and the Van Staals (which i won't pay for)... what else is there that people are liking. Nothing. People buy the new Penn's, Shimano's, Daiwa, etc. and swear by them, but guaranteed they are never going to outlast a Z series. We will never see a reel as good as the Z series in production again, IMHO. They only make disposable reels now.
