Punk Freud
Do the republican rules for who hates America still apply? If you hate Obama do you hate America? If you disagree with Democratic policies do you hate America? If you don't support Obama do you want America to fail? fishnmagician
the anti American radical wing of the GOP is hoping for bad news for America right now. They want bad things to happen, so they can get some perverse sense of retribution in being able to criticize a Dem, after having to hear about Bush's failures for so long. It's rather pathetic. Punk Freud
At least we know who those people are now. The campaign really brought the wackos out into the open. albacized
I don't hate anybody...the only thing I don't like is that when it came to the actual number of votes, this was a close race...however, because we work on an electoral system, the final results were a landslide. This makes me feel like my vote means nothing. That's what I don't like in hindsight. Also while I do have faith in Obama regarding how he'll run the country, I'm not too thrilled with the media playing the 'black' card right now and only showing things such as Harlem celebrations, etc. When it comes to my personal as well as our country's well being, I'd rather not even think about what color someone is and just feel comfortable that the guy is competent for the job. As I said early, I do believe in Barack despite having voted for McCain...but the media is already wearing on me by making this seem like it was more about race. Wraith
yup, the electoral map is pretty simple to read, America in Blue, The states still lamenting the results of the Civil war in Red. But shouldn't you be more interested in the 'People', and not the Electoral College? Oh, that's right, the Electoral College 'Map' looks more impressive the the actual vote, which is what, 51% to 48%? There are people here calling this a 'Landslide', 'Crushing', and 'Mandate'. What Reagan did to Mondale, yes, but a 3 point spread, no. That said, it is time to stand behind our new President, like him or not, he is OUR President. Just please remember, the concept of OUR President is something new to several from the 'left' here. *

likwid
I'm not too thrilled with the media playing the 'black' card right now and only showing things such as Harlem celebrations, etc. I'm sure Arno and the rest of the riot crowd were screaming at the tv hoping for fires and smashed windows. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? Ditch Jigger
welcome to the year 2000, more Americans voted for Gore, and if ONLY the ballots in Florida would have been allowed to be recounted, the last 8 year nightmare could have been avoided. Actually, the NY Times accessed the ballots in the year or so afterwards, and if my memory serves me correctly, they would have added to Bush's 800 vote margain. The nickname they gave your slate back then was "Sore/Loserman". Today you're angling for the title of "Still Sore Winnerman". Wraith
ya think...... Anyone with a brain has been shooting warning flares for years, while partisan dopes have been giving Econ 101 lessons. 'Partisan Dopes'? Please..........Could it be Econ 101 'lessons' ARE needed for many here? A 'few' examples, 'Big Oil is price gouging', 'Big Oil controls the price of Oil', 'Gas Stations are price gouging because two Stations close to each other have a disparity in 'price'. I agree, 'Flares' have been 'shooting' for years, the problem is the lack of people with enough Economic understanding to comprehend just what the 'problem' is. *
fishnmagician
'Partisan Dopes'? Please..........Could it be Econ 101 'lessons' ARE needed for many here? indeed they are, but usually for those offering to give them. there is really NO NEED for me to rehash this argument, the current stock market collapse has proven me correct.
