I apologize if I've upset some of the elderly members of this forum. I honestly didn't mean any disrespect. I just found it interesting that the older members were very "negative" or "reluctant to change" to say the least.

I found that posting the authors Biography information (age) also allowed other members to notice the difference in replies as well.

In all farness, here is my Bio.

Biography:

Location: East Central Florida

Interests: I Surf Fish at Canaveral National Seashore as well as other beaches in my area. I build and fly R/C model aircraft and ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Occupation: I work in the Research and Development Lab at a Major firearms manufacturer. We manufacture black rifles.

I was born April 17th 1959, I'm 49

Both my sons served with the First Wave of the Third Army in Iraq.

I voted for Obama.

Good for them. You must be proud, and rightfully so. icon14.gif

Well, nobody's perfect. wink.gif

Wasn't it the 3rd Army that was held up for a while because Turkey didn't want them entering from their borders - or something like that? Trying to remember. Just curious.

First, I'm glad your sons' served though there is no Third Army (Third Division?) and I don't know what the "First Wave" is. Maybe you should ask you sons and be more clear.

Second, I notice that YOU haven't served, which is par for the course for the left.

Third, 62 is not elderly.

Fourth, when change moves the country in a direction which I believe will be even worse, like toward socialism, ever larger government, more people crippled by government handouts and destroying/hurting business, etc.; you had better believe I am reluctant to change.

The only thing I hope will come out of this election is that true conservatives who want smaller government, fiscal responsibility, etc., etc. will take over and come to the fore.

Four years ago, W won and gained in both the house and senate, which was unprecedented, and people were talking the end of the Democratic Party, remember? Things change and I hope we can start that change in two years and come back in 2012. I think the liberals/quasi socialists/neo communists will wear out their welcome pretty quickly.

Until then, I will have to be content with my God and guns.smile.gifwink.gif

Knight:

Active military and vets make up about 2% of the population.

so it is also par for the course for the right!

98% of Americans haven't served!

that doesn't mean they don't appreciate the service of the 2% who have.

find another dead mule to flog why don't ya?

Age: 52

Race: White (Irish-German)

Occupation: Construction Executive

Military Service: USMC

Vote: OBAMA

Reason: He is smarter, tired of the division of hate and fear perpetuated by the Republicans, I liked his policies better overall.

That is a bit much. After all he researches and designs the guns of the US military and US LEO. I can't imagine greater service to the US than that.
