Tagman
A little to oily for me. When I was a kid my mother used to fry up the snappers my brother and I caught in the bay. I still remember how good they were. Let us know if you hit a recipe that is out of this world.
Kings over Queens
market sucks and you think eating a bluefish is going to make you feel better? I'd rather have a big bowl of mac and cheese or pastina with butter and fresh pecarino and cracked pepper. Anyway, do a search for my tog cakes, and see how that works for you. You could easily susbsitute blue fish meat for the tog. #otterlivesmatter
brucelieb
I actually have not caught or fished for Blackfish in years....But I recall it as my favorite tasting...thart and Kingfish/Northern whiting...Never see them anymore.. But I will google it... I do think out of all us guys SOmebody got the tickt. My wife will not let me in the kitchen so I cooked tow batches for snacks, Success! or at least potentail! Teriki! tasted real good...the next was blackened and it rocked!.. Weber grill a preheat High heat preheating the cast iron pan on the said weber grill. when ready I sprayed the pan with w\\some pan stuff fillets rubed with cajun spice ( some blacken spice off the rack) This is not rocket science or cooking as a high art...I winged it and used the web... next time crispier skin

jigger
When I cook blue fish . I always cut off the dark meat and feed the cat it. Any left over blue fish. I'll make a blue fish salad out of it. I make it just like I would with tuna. SOL #

Bluefish gets a bad rap from people that really don't like fish........it is darker, gamier, and oilier than other fish such as cod or flounder, but to me, that is what makes it one of the best eating fish out there. brucelieb
well boys- it aint great... or real good...it is funky... I dug clams for a living and will eat a chowder raw in a minute...osysters yea! farmed them too.... sushi ! bring it on... In Madrid I had big..BIG f'in' sardines heads and all ...I neede some good Juerez brandy for courage... but bluefish.... I will sum up everything you might hear and/or might get logged on.... 1. some will give a long complex recipe with a brick or cedar plank that ends with throw out the fish and eat the brick.... 2. smoke it ( ha ha hard to keep lit) But YES IT IS GREAT! 3. pate/ ( I love it!) after smokin and again GREAT!!!!!! 4. must bleed em ice em and eat em quick 5. any way eat em fresh (#4) on the grill. cocktail size or smaller.... 6. rub with mayo or soak in milk ( ugh!!!!!!! yuck.. and ridiculous...but, that is my editorial) 7. teriyaki or cajun all I think are great... 8. love it straight up and fishy but I think it will wear thin....it aint tuna It is real funky but it is our funky fish 9. Cut out the blood line and red dark flesh! real important... AND REMEMBER one mans meat is another mans potatoes. good recipes send my way
Parrot6909
Blues aren't bad as long as they are prepped and iced the right way. Get them home, a little foil, some butter, lemon and fresh rosemary and garlic, toss on the grill. Good stuff.
