richs
If I have a batson 1088, do I really need a 1208? No more skunks. Maybe you didn't hear about it, you been gone a long time.
John B
Depends. Have you ever fished the 1088 and wished it was a foot longer? Seriously, a description of how you plan to use the rod(s) would make the question easier to answer. I ate one anchovy, and that is why I did not eat two anchovies. Charleston
You may not need the 1208 but another 10 footer may fit your needs. The Lami 120 1l or 1m. The loomis 1266 there are many in that length range. It depends on what how you intend to use it. The 1208 is a great choice however. I am old but I'm slow. WalkinTheDog
I have both and got the 1208 2 years ago and got the 1088 this spring. I used the 1088 maybe a half dozen times. While it does have great mojo after the first trip to block, it never gets used. The 1208 is very versatile.

Surfmaster250
Really what you need are to many rods that you can't decide which ones to use, soooo... You take as many as you can fishing with you and your truck looks like a tackle shop on wheels. You can never have to many!! As for what you asking A 10' with a certain action and lure weight and a 11' with specs. I use 11' SW models that can cast 5/8 to 1 1/2 and 11'SU models to throw 1 to 4oz or 11' models to throw 2-6oz it all depends on what you want or do.
