mcafam
As you are in the freshwater forum, I wll assume that you are new to lmb (large mouth bass) and smb (small mouth bass) fishing. You will get some excellent advice here, but think about joining b.a.s.s. or just pick up bassmasters magazine. Full of info on equipment, lures, presentation, conditions, locations, etc. Where are you in the country, what type of water will you be fishing, lakes, ponds, rivers, shallow, deep, weedy, clear??? My favrorites are a 5"purple senko texas rigged or a manns baby minus 1 crankbait.

bluefish1928thing
i still think floatin trick worms are the master at catching bass, use them on a carolina rig, weightless, shakey head.................. senkos do work, and most other ppl think senkos are the best(but i mainly fish ffor bass in the summer) rigged weedless and weightless a 7 inch zoom trick worms in bubblegum and poumpkin are effective on summertime bass even when the air is 95 degrees. bass strikes and this catches bass of various sizes from 10 inch bass to 5 pounders

Pfishingruven
Be patient, read as much bass fishing info as you can, scope out the areas you are going to fish with an aerial map and any topographic or detailed maps of structure in the water you can get, talk to people who fish that area, ask a lot of questions, pick 1 lure at a time to learn how to fish, don't be afraid to use bait and experiement as much as you can by changing up the lure you are working with! Also, don't just limit yourself to bass. Catching other species can be just as fun. If you keep an open mind and just fish, as much as you can and whenever you can, you will be hooked for life. Good Luck!!

Learn a little at a time. and u dont need every color of worms or every diving depth crankbait either(places i fish are less than 10 feet deep, so have a 10 feet of deepr divers are almost useless)
DerrickT
and u dont need every color of worms or every diving depth crankbait either(places i fish are less than 10 feet deep, so have a 10 feet of deepr divers are almost useless) On the contrair. I use deeper divers then the depth I'm fishing so it bounces off the bottom and makes alot of noise. You'd be surprised.

BigBadBass
im new to bass fishing. does anybody have any tips for me 6' to 7' medium action or med/heavy rod, 2500 reel with some 8 to 10 lb test mono, and a bunch of different colored senkos! Bro there's no other fun way to catch lmb or smb than on a senko. I like to hook the senko wacky style but you can texas rig it if there's a lot of weeds. There are many web sites to show you how to hook them. If your fishing early morning you can use some topwater lures like poppers or jitterbug. They work great! Awesome to see a bass break water on your topwater lure! Dude there is so much more to learn but hope that helps in getting you started.
quonny
How long ago did you move? Probally wouldn't reconize it anymore. I moved recently July 2007. My kids were in th Cocalico system, and I worked in Lititz. I spent a ton of time bassin at middle creek. I doubt that anybody knows that water better than me. I used to wade it. There are some awesome fish in that pond
