Old Man
...Hi whitey.... I use clear nail polish on the shank before the first layer of thread...then a little bit of material with a coating of polish...each clump of materail gets tied in and a coating polish... ...the head is 2 part epoxy and the hook is put on a spinner ... ..I've used Devcon, Locktite and some other brand epoxy... ....I have a 6 rpm motor floating around here somewhere (from a microwave) so don't go spend $50.00 on a comercial spinner ...they are easy enough to make... whitey
went fora ride after voting and bought a 100ml bottle of softex clear flexible coating . not to impressed with it says fast drying and then small print says 4 hours. the jars about the size of uncle josh so i think i have to talk myself into liking it !!! i should be down on friday - sunday i go under the knife on the 18th so thats going to put a end to my season Top Drawer Sport fishing " We Put Everything Into It "
Old Man
..I knew I had a picture of the spinner I use.....(just couldn't find it before)...[tough getting old]... ...Scott (Throwing Timber's invisible friend) made this for me one evening while bayman was spinning some blanks at Scott's house... ..it has a 40 rpm motor and works just fine....there is a dowel epoxied to the motor shaft and I just cut a hole in the chunk of styrofoam and push it on... ...the first chunk of foam I used I had cut it round... ..I didn't even bother this time and made it much larger (bout 5 inch square)....it'll hold more hooks than I have patience to make at one session !!! ...the next one will have a cup holder and coffee maker built in ...other than that it's awesome...
