laguna madre
Heading up there this weekend for the first time. Heard flows were still pretty high over average. Any recent reports? Will the flows over 1500 really slow things down and make it difficult to fly fish? Thanks in advance.
striperhound
It fished it last weekend Saturday was 750 and did well down in the DSR with numerous steelies and browns and occasional salmon. Sunday went up to 1150 and it was much harder. At 1500 plus I would reschedule and give the water a chance to drop. Flyfishing over 1500 is no fun and anything you hook will be tough to land in that water.
Brother Brian
At 1500 you could always go to the upper or lower 'petting zoo' (or FF only area as it is also known ). bobber
if its still runnning that high, I'd think about re-scheduling, or look into another creek (Oak Orchard?) for your destination......it just plain sucks trying to fish in high water like that...... its all about da fishes...
