Scoundrel
Loaded up my truck yesterday with ALL of my trolling/casting/jigging gear for boat fishing into a large storage container to transport to the boat. A dozen or more umbrella rigs,2 out-rodders,at least two dozen stretch plugs, two or more dozen jigs, and 7 or eight custom wood trollers. Went to get a sandwich, and you guessed it, left the tail-gate down. All of my gear fell out onto the side of the road.A good samaritan pulls me over within 600 yards of where it happened and about 45 seconds of when it happened. He said a guy in a black Bronco heading the opposite direction quickly pulled over, threw everything into his vehicle and took off like a bat-out-of hell. I turned around as quickly as I could but could not locate the other car. A conservative estimate of $1,000. Merry Christmas scumbag and may bad things happen to you in the very near future. TinCup
total bummer man, that just sucks! that guy is gonna get his though, bad karma coming his way... on a personal note, i capsized my first boat, first trip out, mechanical failure not forseen, long story, point is, losing stuff sucks and it burns you up for a while, but as you rebuild your arsenal that "bang your head against the wall" feeling goes away - don't fret, it's only stuff

FishAgain
total bummer man, that just sucks! that guy is gonna get his though, bad karma coming his way... on a personal note, i capsized my first boat, first trip out, mechanical failure not forseen, long story, point is, losing stuff sucks and it burns you up for a while, but as you rebuild your arsenal that "bang your head against the wall" feeling goes away - don't fret, it's only stuff TinCup makes alot of sense. IMHO the guy who stole it just bought himself a whole lot of trouble. I mean the "gf screwed his best buddy and now he has the clap" kinda trouble!!!! I'm serious, I really believe that kinda **** is headed his way. A real fisherman wouldn't do that, only a scum bag, poaching ******* who's life is gonna get ugly real soon would do that. So listen to TinCup and start buying new stuff,
Blueback
The basturd will get his someday. People that do things like that eventually get burned. You're not the only one who has left a tail gate down or a box on the roof of a car. I left my tailgate down and drove 25 miles with $500 worth of stuff in the back. I was lucky though. All the stuff was still there, but I'm now paranoid every time checking if my gate is up. I pulled over in SH one night to see if I closed my gate and I ended up with two rangers checking my truck and all the weeds around it.

Any chance you contact the local PD and maybe they know the vehicle and can give you a lead. I LIKE PIZZA!

Shipwreck
Eye Cancer on him....however are you sure this guy saw it fall out or did he just drive up on it? WWYD? If I rolled up on alot of equipment just sitting there, I would prolly pick it up, but I would post it on every board I could think of. Regardless, it really stinks but if you listen to Toad its over anyways....Have fun at the shows. And on the bright side you get a total do over on rigs and equipment, things you wished you could have changed you now can. That did not help did it? sorry man.
