He said I will be on easy street if I vote for him and all I have to do is (well vote for him) stop making money. Cool, he has me there.

How do we do this? He says that insurance companies wil not be allowed to turn people down for business if they are sick and the insurance company will have to start paying off on that person, a "pre existing condition". Two questions:

1) How does congress craft a law that would force a company of any kind to do business with a person they do not wish to do business with?

2)This will make insurance cost more not less. Why is that a good idea?

OR (third question), is this just blablabla to get sick people to vote for him?

Hey, you are an insurance guy.

Would you sell a homeowners' policy to a guy that has had 7 homes burn down "by accident"? That would be stupid right?

How do you suppose congress could write a law forcing you to sell that policy to this guy? If they did, what would you do to cover your business should this cats house burn again?

View PostAt a friends house the other night a woman tried to convince me that I should vote for Obama because he was going to fix global warming AND end the war in Iraq and bring all our troops home 4 years, and these issues should be of the highest concern to me because I have children. cwm27.gif

Another reason to become a Libertarian-mention it to anyone talking politics in a social setting and they will leave you the hell alone.

Would I personally? Why not....I'm not paying the claim. smile.gif Gas doesn't magically appear in my benz, does it?

For what it's worth, in NY, health insurance was altered in the early 90's to a take all comers plan. That's when I got out of it. My rates have increased steadily since.

I don't know what effect that's had on the buying public's ability to obtain coverage. I mean, are more sick people buying insurance because all comers must be accepted? I think the net result is that we still have large parts of the population uninsured, and those that do have it (me redface.gif ) paying exhorbinant amounts of money for it.
