To test his metal First 30 days - he'd mess himself First 90 days - he'd hide under the oval office desk First 6 months - would he offer a "dialogue" First year - we'd be relegated to a 'paper tiger' much like we were with Carter and Clinton "Gradatim Ferociter / Carpe Diem / No Guts, No Glory "I hate taxes, and Communism, and inflation. Patrick9915
And I assume John McCain would disappear to a phone booth and emerge as superman? First 30 days - he'd mess himself John McCain does that already!

Patrick9915
Which part was unfair? The part where I'm laughing at HJ for thinking McCain is Superman? Or the second part where I joked John McCain craps his pants? If it's the latter, I agree it was unkind and unfair. It was a joke. But, I'd like to know how YOU know it's untrue? Have you spent a fair amount of time rooting around in McCain's pants?

likwid
And I assume John McCain would disappear to a phone booth and emerge as superman? Dive under his desk and start screaming about incoming? The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? Have you spent a fair amount of time rooting around in McCain's pants? I think it a all unfair. This man has stood up for his country every day of his life since he was 17. He handed over a check against his life that says "America, I'll die for all of you". He almost did. Then he refused to leave ahead of the men he suffered with. When he came home he went to Washington to work for his country again. His service has been honorable, whether you agree with his votes or not. What have you done for America? Patrick9915
And how many people have served their country and have asked for nothing in return? Yet with McCain, every time someone says something bad about him... "OH HE WAS A POW!" We are expected to bow down before him. Right.

Patrick9915
Biden said it will be within the first 6 months, we will just have to wait and see. And if McCain won, they'd do it to him too. They're going to haze the new guy and see just how much they can get away with.
Nessmuk
I hardly expect that Obama will come unglued at his first challenge. I do expect him to be ineffectual and give ground, ala Carter and Clinton. Little surrenders are easier than conflict. Until you no longer have a means to resist, even if you wanted to. Expect four years of appeasement, both foreign and domestic.
