Skate Bait
I want to get a good rod, for throwing a good amount of lead on those days when nothing seems to hold bottom. Let's figure 8 ounces or more. Any ideas? While were at it what about a reel, preferably but not limited to a spinner. Politics is like driving - it's "R" to go backwards, and "D" to go forward. ReelMan
Hi S.Psycho, You can try out the Okuma Celilo CE-S-1102. 4-16OZ 40LB line. this rod is a perfect 11' - 2PCS surf graphite rod for heavy weights. it can handle the big ones reliably and you can cast the max weight (16OZ!) to a decent distance, i am using this rod for 3 years for amberjacks and monster grouper and it can handle them pretty well. don't let this weight ranges full you, this rod is not a "broom style" rod, it can deliver the smallest bite right to your hand. i am using the spinning model but i think they have it also in a casting model. also the price is very cheap, i think you can get it for less then 50 bucks ! Okuma also have the Blue Diamond 10' 2-8OZ series, i have never use it but have heard some very good things about it.
